  1. Hi there,

Over the past few days i have been suffering from a bad cold - sore throat, blocked nose, and i have really seen my performance drop. On a hilly 12.5 km TT, where i usually finish at around 21 minutes, i finished at 22.46, which i was not pleased about.

So, is it reasonable to assume that a loss of 1 minute 46 seconds is due to a cold, or is there another reason?

    Thanks

You could easily lose over 1 min just by having a bad day (stress at work, fight with significant other, not enough sleep, etc.). Riding/racing with a cold certainly qualifies as a bad day.
