What a broad veiw of the world.. It is nice that you have been to all of them to say that. The diners that I have been to are all charming and had extremely good food. Not to mention decent portions and friendly staff.. That is if you take the time to take the stick out of your ass.

Love denny's... great breakfast foods.. I like the 2 eggs and bacon and toast meal.. we lived at denny's almost the year we did not have a kitchen in our apartment.. Was better then Mc Donalds :P Also used to have the soup and salad or a soup and sandwich.. depended on my mood at the time 😉

Well it just sucks that the only thing I can drink at a diner is the water, and it usually has something floatng in it :oP~~ As a jeweler if I didn't have a stone someone wanted I wouldn't be offended if they asked me to set one they brought me! Anyway - it's just a sleazy diner, as long as they are not offended to the point of spitting on my food I don't care.

From a servers point of view: This customer is so cheap that they have to bring in a tea bag from home.
Why is is cheap? i only drink herbal tea and they don't sell it. i don't drink beverages with sugar and my only option is water so I may as well have the tea i like if i have it with me.

Can't wait to get that whole $2 tip, and for your information as a part time waitress at a NJ diner we do not spit in your food, we would be fired for that. Most diners have a regular base of customers, you would be suprised that they might bring in your flavor of tea or bottled water, just ask. As for sleazy diners?? We all pass health inspection, if we don't they shut us down. And if I don't like there brand of tea, or the taste of there water I will find another diner that has what I like. Average sale at a diner $6.00-- Average sale at a Jewler??? do the math of course your going to accomadate your customer.
i am not a regular patron at any diner so I wouldn't be in a position to make a special request.

No what you said was all diners are sleazy.. not the local ones or the one down by the docks with the rat droppings and the druggies standing by the door. I do know how to read and have great critical thinking skills even if I can not always spell it out.

*NOBODY* uses powdered eggs any more. That was WWII stuff. Powdered eggs cost more than fresh if you can even find them. In all my decades of food service, I've never seen powdered eggs at a food show, in a catalog or had a salesperson try to sell me some. >

We don't have Denny's here. They have all those Whammy-bammy meals and such, right? We have alot of Ruby Tuesday's, Fridays, Outback - like that for fast food and then McDs, wendys', taco bell etc.
That must've been tough. We are going to do our kitchen now and will be able to BBQ and we eat so much salad anyway and have the George foreman grill. I don't see that we 'd have to resort to fast food. Have enough family closeby to mooch meals when needed I guess!

The place we lived was so bad electricly that if you used a hot plate it would throw the breaker! It was awful. Our living room here is about the size of the whole apartment there.. It was really a room with a bathroom.. had to pay extra for the bathroom.. It was actualy our secound apartment together.. The first was WAY better.. but in Wisconsin.. The secound was in Nashua NH.. rent was outragous... *sigh*

DH toys with going to VT, you can get so much more than here. I don't know if I can stand the cold.

I prefer New England cold to Wisconsin cold.. My rent for a 1 room apartment no kitchen with a bathroom was $175 a week. We pay a very cheap $460 a month here for rent. Though this is a cheap rent even for here by about $100 a month for a 2 bedroom. Our last apartment was better then the 1 room but not as nice as here..

Where in NY are you? It's very similar in terms of climate.
I don't know where in VT you're thinking of looking, but it's not all cheaper than NY metro. Especially NY Metro where the sleaziest diners are.

I had one skirt up and walk out.
LOL - I don't have a high-end wardrobe actually, mostly thrift shop stuff. Losing weight so quickly you could go broke replacing everything as the sizes go down and down and down. But I do know the difference in quality. You don't think Wal-mart is the equivelant product to the higher end stores do you?
