  1. Nice early morning start today as Clare decided last night not to walk. So,
out early and down at East Meon by 8:00am after a 9 mile drive along very
narrow country lanes. Bit chilly at the start, but soon got the body warmed
up. Headed south up to Mercury Park, the old Naval Communications school,
and made my way down to Chidden Farm area and my furthest point south.
Turning back north on the Monarch's Way, I was soon crossing the road on
Teglease Down on the way down to Whiteways Farm. Here I joined the South
Downs Way (SDW) coming down from Old Winchester Hill. Heading east on the
SDW to the eastern end of Henwood Down, I left the SDW and for the short
walk back to the car park at East Meon. Very pleasant 9 mile outing.

I enjoy early morning walks as the paths are nice and quiet ........ and
still have time remaining in the day for home chores like clearing those
    horrid leaves from the garden.

Photos from along the route at the web address below.
