I've got a Specialized MTB with this funky front derailer, mounted to the BB. I guess it's called an
"E-type." Either way, it's never worked well (it is only alivio or acera). The cable clamp bolt is a
bother to get at, and it's acting up again. If I've got the cable coming up (pulling down) from the
BB, can I buy a clamp-on derailleur, bottom pull? Would I want it to be top- or bottom-swing?

indeed if they are set up and adjusted correctly. The point is that even Durace/XTR/Record won't
