I had DVT (left leg) just over a year ago and I've been back into cycling (road) about 4 months. My leg is still swollen (elevation helps) and I've found cycling helps with circulation.
Has anyone got any advice or experiences to share.

I had dvt last October in my right leg and was hospitalized for 5 days. I had to be pretty still for about a month after that. I didn't know if I would be able to get back into it, but the Dr. cleared me and I bought an entry-level mountain bike to get back in shape. The swelling is post-phlebitic syndrome. As I understand it one of the causes is the damage done to the valves in the veins which causes also causes discoloring. I'm now taking coumadin and may the rest of my life, which kind of bothers me because I have wiped out a few time in my life, and now everytime I ride crashing is on my mind. I'm thinking of getting into mountain biking cuz dirt doesn't hurt like concrete.
