Dutch Meatballs
250 gr minced pork
250 gr minced beef
( we can get it combined and call it " half om half"😉
1 egg
1 tsp salt ( to your taste)
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp nutmeg
100 gr old with bread without the crust crumbled
(you can also use "paneermeel" but I can't find the English word for it)
1 tablespoon of milk
50 gram butter or margarine (do not use oil)
Mix all the ingredients (except the butter)by hand
Add some more breadcrumbs if the mixture sticks
to your hand, form about 5 meatballs
Melt the butter in a skillet let it become light brown
Bake the meatballs on both sides until the have a
brown crust
Transfer the meatball to a casserole pan
Put a 1/4 liter of water in your skillet to get al the stuff out of the
pan
Let it cook for about one minute
Transfer the water and butter mixture in to your casserole
over the meatballs
The meatballs should be totally covered, if not add some water
Let it simmer for 30 minutes on the lowest possible setting
on your cooker
Also it possible to let the balls simmer in a slow cooker
then let them simmer for about six hours on low
Hope you can follow my recipe and English
