I just bought a 04' Dura ace 9 speed chain rings set (53T,39T) to replace my worn out Ultrega set. On my Ultrega set, the 6500 series number is stamped on the ring (I'm pretty sure, I'm not at my bike now). The new Dura ace rings don't have the 7700 seriers number anywhere on the rings. Is this the way they come or did I get taken? They do have Shimano on them.

My ultegras don't have #s on them either. I think you got taken just buying DA rings.

The number 7700 is not stamped on the Dura Ace rings. The original Dura Ace's are a bit brownish grey, more to the brown side than Ultegra f.i.
