I just bought an 03 dura ace triple crankset from a friend.
I'm shopping for a BB for it now.
I've had the "needle bearing" 03 double dura ace BB in the past and did not like it as I found it hard to keep in adjustment and greased up, so I converted to the cartridge style ultegra double.
My question:
From the pics I have seen on the shimano site and mail order, the DA triple BB looks like it is a cartridge type and not the fiddly needlebearing. Can someone confirm that if I get the DA triple BBthat its still uses the ultegra type design that is more "fit-and-forget"
Also, can I use my standard shimano cartridge bb tool (fits ultegra, xt...) or do I need to buy a special one for the DA triple...

DA triple BB is indeed the cart bearing type, not the loose cup and ball type of the double(which is outta production, BTW). You can use either the DA OR ulterra triple(118mm spindle) BB for those cranks.
Use the standard for double tool.
