Pretty amazing the Liesel Jones and Jessica Hardy swam almost precisely the same times in finishing first and second in the 100 breast yesterday in Irvine. Jones going 1:06.21 and Hardy 1:06.6.
Had Jones gone 0.01 second (one one hundreth of a second) faster, she'd have been $25,000 (US) richer.
Very good swims, especially for a dual meet. Katie Hoff and Kate Ziegler continue to impress. Jessicah Schipper was the real hero, running down Rachel Komisarz to lead the Aussie 4 x 100 MR team to victory, which gave the Aussie women's time the (unofficial) meet win (stupid that they didn't score men/women separately). Schipper did this only 10 min after winning the 200 fly is a very fast 2:07 something.
