  2. Peter,

The University of Melbourne gives good account of what is required to hold
a degree as a "Doctor of Medicine.". Pretty good Uni you would have to
    agree.

    http://www.unimelb.edu.au/ExecServ/Statutes/r3036.htm

Likewise the University of Texas site also explains what is required to hold
a degree as a "Doctor of Medicine."

    http://www.swmed.edu/home_pages/publish/sms_catalog/degree.html

So we can compare that the same requirements are in place between Australia
and USA and indeed the UK, for Doctors to hold a degree called "Doctor of
    Medicine."

The University of Bristol refers to the degree "Doctor of Medicine" as "MD"
and the requirement is Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery as is
    the case here in Australia.

Now, just so the general audience does not get confused about who has the
right to call themselves an MD, please read the following site (Clause 8
    will do nicely.)
    from the University of Tasmania.

    http://www.admin.utas.edu.au/HANDBOOKS/UTASHANDBOOKS/RULES/rhdmed.html

The use of the term MD is becoming more universal so I think that the point
you were trying to make was simply your way of denigrating Dr Cabot and of
course you eluded that she was not even registered and that no one cared
about this. Are you saying that she has been de-licensed or perhaps just not
registered in Australia at this time ?

Now if you do not fancy the Uni of Tassie, then lets look a little more
closer to home at the University of Queensland.

    http://www.uq.edu.au/study/program.html?acad_prog=7504

It does say Doctor of Medicine "MD", does it not.

I think you owe a whole lot of people an apology for the deceiving and near
libellous statements you have made about Dr Cabot MD. Certainly you have
tried to lead people to believe that you know it all with your BA which
simply stands for "Bloody Awful" person.

I think Dr Barrett is no longer registered either.

    Cheers, Rod

The only thing I'm having trouble with is understanding you.

It is not my fault that you are as stupid as a rock.

Doctors in Australia do not call themselves "MD". The abbreviation
does not mean "medical doctor" (even in the USA), but refers to a
university degree called "Doctor of Medicine". Only people holding
such a degree are entitled to put the letters after their names. Ex-Dr
Cabot is perfectly entitled to call herself "Sandra Cabot MB,BS". It
is doubtful whether she should call herself "Doctor" as this is a
courtesy title and she is no longer registered, but nobody really
    cares about this.

If you had ever been to a university, you would know that degrees have
names and official abbreviations. A Bachelor of Medicine from most
Australian and UK universities is not called "BM" but is "MB". A
Bachelor of Surgery is called "BS" in Australia but "BChir" or some
variant in the UK. A "BS" from an American university is a Bachelor of
Science, but that is called "BSc" in Australia. I did essentially
science courses at university but I have to put "BA" after my name
because a quirk of my university's rules meant that I was granted a
    Bachelor of Arts.

    Simple, isn't it?

Barring that technicality I suppose she would have every right to call
herself, what was that again now?........

Actually, she has the right to use those letters after her name regardless
of whether she is licensed to practice.

The Alties and others have often whined that Stephen Barrett no longer has a
licese to practice (he is retired and allowed it to lapse, proof has been
posted). Now, when one of their own is in a similar situation, they weasel
    and wiggle.

    Quoted message said:

my calling her an MD seems too trite a point for you all to have made much
    ado about anyways.

It is not YOUR calling her an MD, since you have no credibility. It is her
calling her self and MD, when she knows the degrees she has earned and knows
the difference between them and an MD.

If you are claiming that she has a degree issued in Australia called a

which is required to practice medicine.

However, according to her claims, she has not attended any schools which are
authorized to grant such a degree. To use the "MD" is misleading and

by privacy laws unless the story gets into the papers, like it did for
Dr William McBride, who had his licence yanked when his fraudulent
medical research into Debendox was revealed (he is now allowed to
practise again, but cannot do research), and Dr Geoffrey Edelsten, who
employed a professional hitman (who is now himself missing, presumed
dead) to collect some money from a patient.

I have written to the NSW Medical Registration Board to ask what I can
find and where I can find it. I expect a reply at the speed of
bureaucracy, which means any week now.

I don't, but I hope Peter posts it soon.

As I have said, I have heard rumours

    Priceless!

Thank you so much for those words.

You see, I had been quite troubled over the condition of my own small model
bullsh*tometer, which has been making these quite remarkable "Bleep, bleep,
HIC! splutter, splutter, HIC! bleeeee...p" sounds, while rattling and
shaking on its desk, for some days now. And as we all know, qualified and
reliable bullsh*tometer-repairers can be difficult to find these days..

Gymmy, that lady is top flight in every way and they know it. but what can
we expect of them? They are paid to do this(debunk non conventional

    ========================
Who is paying them (either side) and where is the proof anyone is being
paid? What are you basing this accusation on? Even the technicians on the
    MS Newsgroups are not paid.

    Kim

The problem is not the implausibility of their claim. The problem is in their
use of language. When they say that people are paid to debunk alt-health
techniques, it means that they can't support their own claims.

No surprise there, it's because of the proximity

You don't understand Kim. Alternative practitioners are allowed to

But you are quite correct that her credibility is very suspect. That
is why I try to demonstrate the lies of some people who post here. You
cannot believe those who repeatedly lie. And the liars don't care

    Has anything new

Yes. Recent information shows that that appear only in Tiajuan, Mexico at
her clinic. The safest way to avoid them is to stay away from her clinic.

It's also my understanding no flukes were

Lies to advance an agenda? Yes, that happens I'm sure.

Actually Dr. Valerie Saxon has some expelled Liver Flukes preserved in a

    parasites you should contact her.

Thanks for asking. Some sort of a bug has prevented my posting from
Google. Even to set up a new account. I follow through, send the post,
read the record of it being sent, - then nothing. Or in the case of the
attempted new account, receive the message, "An email has been sent to that
address; click on the link it contains to begin your new account" (not
exact wording) - but no email ever arrives.

What is with the new thread name?

Thank you for dishonestly snipping the rest of what I wrote, where I
said that I had contacted the appropriate regulatory authorities for
    details.

I will give you a hint - medicine cabinet. But I stress that it is
only a rumour. What is not a rumour is the fact that she is not
allowed to practise medicine in Australia, despite having all the
    necessary qualifications.

    WRONG!!

I finally got through to the NSW Med Reg Board myself, in regard to that
    specific question.

What a waste of time this has been.

Here is the number for anyone who wishes to check (minus country code):

    (02) 7879 2200

(Bearing in mind that her own name is not that under which she writes, as
per "Dr James Wright" of radio fame.)

She is a practicing, legally registered, _respected_ Medical Doctor to this
    day!
