I have a set of dura ace 9 speed shifters that I would like to use on
a frame without mounts on the downtube. My plan is to find a cheap
set of clamp on shifters, remove the levers and stick my DA levers on.
Is there a model of clamp on down tube shifters that I can use for
this? That is, is there a model of clamp on down tube shifters that
when the levers are removed looks like braze ons for shifters?

won't all work. In the early/mid '80s Shimano and others used different
bosses than Campagnolo. By the late '80s everyone standardized on the Camp
style braze-on.For example, my wife's early '80s Motobecane had a clamp-on mount that
wouldn't work with Dura-Ace 9-speed DT shifters (I tried). The thread and
mounting screw length on those clamp-ons didn't match the current standard.
I was able to attach a Shimano DT cable stop on that clamp-on using the old
screw, so I went with 105 STI levers purchased on eBay.The clamp below _may_ still be available from Lickton's, but may require
some modification to work with your DA shifters. You might want to give them
a call.lickbike.comproductpage.aspOpen ↗
If you go with bar ends or STI/Ergo there are more options since all you
would need is a cable stop on the DT.Art Harris

Shimano sells such a clamp. Do a Google search for "Loose Screws".
I've not tried it with shifters, but it works perfectly with DT cable
adjusters.Jim Smith said:

lever. The 105 lever for the front mech is still in place. -

Do you happen to know if any SIS shifter will work?
I gather that the braze ons are a campagnolo standard?
Does that mean that some of the campagnolo clamps will do what I want?
