Downstate NY Century Route Suggestions?

I'm training towards a century ride first week in November.
Can anyone suggest a safe(ish) route from NYC?

Give westchester cycle club an e-mail.

It's a little nicer that riding in the NYC, they are based in
westchester area. They have a ride book that is totaly worth getting.
They have great rides you can use.

There is also the Golden Apple ride in September. The Golden Apple
Tour will celebrate its 23rd consecutive year on Sunday, September 26.
Of course, you can read all about it right here (and even download a
registration form)... or you can sign up online via Active.com.
