Parker Race

Where is this held? Is it in a state park? Doesn't look like a blizzard this year so I'm thinking of
coming down for a possible 25k or so.

Norrie State Park. Take the thruway to Kingston and cross the Kingston Rhinecliff bridge. Take right
at the second light(a T intersection)) and about a mile down the road is a three way intersection -
pick up rt. 9 (not 9g) south(a right turn) and head toward Rhinebeck. Pass through Rhinebeck and
Staatsburg(roughly 5-7 miles) and you will see a sign on the right Norrie State Park). Turn right
and follow the signs to the race which is parking lot by the Hudson River about a mile and half.
This road is the race course.

It's a 5k loop on the road from the parking lot on the Hudson back to rt. 9 and back. I think the
road is owned by the park. Anyway you pass your car every 5k so you don't need to carry anything.
It's a typical Fat Ass race, free, no awards and no whining allowed. You only have to sign up if you
plan to do the whole race.

I will sign up, run easy(like 9's), and see how it goes. I don't have many long runs but I do have
some fair hills. Some of my winter running cohorts will be there to run various lengths. Maybe we
can do a few laps together as long as your there for a slow run and not a race. :)

I'll have my slimfast, cytomax and Heineken. When I open the green can I'm done.

Pick some multiple of 5k. Bringing your bride?

Thanks for the directions!

Doubtful, really just have a 2:30 run to do to kick off my Boston training. 5 x 30 would
give me that.

I'm definitely not racing! I'm starting to feel better lately but haven't done any speed work
since July.

Duly noted.

I don't know, she's planning a "run" to NJ to shop at IKEA with some of her teammates on Sunday.
She's says she's not going, we'll see. Also depends on getting someone to watch the kids if we're
both going to go.
