DIY cateye switch

Like you, I have suffered flat batteries in my old Cateyes caused by the
switch coming on in storage. My fix is not as good as yours, but is
quicker - unsnap the battery case end and slip a bit of paper through the
switch contacts. Snap the battery cover on with a tail of paper hanging
out, so that it can be pulled out when you need light.

I found that on a backroads tour, you wear out the handlebar mount if you
leave the light mounted all the time. You know this has happened when
the light flies off and destroys itself. So bag storage is a good idea.

I'll try the paper/contacts on the five led headlamp-the switch is
jammed open-jiffy cleaner doesn't cure it:maybe the plastic bottle poly
with a handle left on
