wrote a while back asking for advice on how to stop my xt disk brakes squealing.
thought y'all would be interested to hear that i permanently stopped the noise by changing to e.b.c.
pads rather than shimano. shimano last longer, but e.b.c. are very effective and quiet. cheaper too.
thanks to the group for previous suggestions.
