Disc wheels are faster in a straight line and (provided you can hold the bike upright) gain greater aerodynamic advantage in crosswinds. Of course the same sail effect which can pussh you a bit in the crosswinds also has a habit of wanting to throw you into a cowfield. Only really funny if you're watching.
