  1. What a difference a year makes. In 2005 Discovery's was in 1st place in
total prize money with 545,640 Euros. 400,000 of the total was awarded to
    Lance for winning the GC.

This year Discovery was in 15th place earning a total of 34,130 Euros.
Subtracting the 400,000 Euros, the team earned 111,510 Euros less than last
year. Wow, only 18,930 Euros more than last placed Agritubel.

Lance has always argued that Johan made him the best possible rider but it
might be that Lance's talent and drive made Johan look like a genius DS. I
guess that time will give us a more accurate picture.

    Dumbass -

It was the combination of the two.

The way that team rode, neither LANCE nor Bruyneel could make that
    happen on their own.

    thanks,

    K. Gringioni.

Well having the "best prepared" rider in your team can never hurt. I
don't think anyone ever said he was a genius, the simple rule, was "go
flat out until the last climb and then gun it", nothing very
remarkable there. If anything Lelangue's choices in 2006 were more
remarkable, give a potental tour winner 30 minutes and then on the
road to Morzine take a HUGE chance.
