I know what you mean! Although I'd have used a different, less offensive analogy! The question is: Which team will the anti-American cry-babies single out as their whipping boy next? I'm so tired of listening to them I rarely even visit this forum anymore. I just stopped by to see the reaction to Disco disbanding.

But alas you can rest assured that on this froum you'll still be able to count on any and every thread devolving into an anti-Armstrong/Disco rant. Even though LA has been retired for years and the team deosn't even exist anymore! It'll still happen.

It's okay for some teams to dope, we'll look the other way, but if you're Disco, we're coming after you with our pitch-forks and torches! 🙄

It is sad that any sponsor leaves, and a team is disbanded. Sponsors are not lining up to sponsor pro cycling these days.
I wish I had $18 mil. laying around that I could sponsor a team with.

I'm surprised you are not calling for the exit of Rabobank, T-Mobile, etc., teams steeped in doping practices (Rabo is especially corrupt IMO from what I've heard from people who've ridden for them in the past).

I think that this indicates that sponsors in countries steeped in a cycling doping culture (and therefore taking a more cynical view) think nothing of continuing their sponsorship in the guise of "supporting a new cycling". Of couse, they knowingly supported (and profited) from the "old cycling" for many years.

The difficulty is in attracting new non-traditional sponsors (i.e. non EU based) to the sport based upon its current problems. Cycling will always be a non-entity as a professional sport in N.A. A reliance on N.A. sponsors was probably not sustainable in the long term given Disco's budget.

Additionally, Disco choosing to disband could also be in response to the ASO's indication that it would invite who it chooses next year. It could very well be a strategic move.

In the end, perhaps it ceased to be a good investment, both from a sponsor's and operator's (Tailwind) perspective.

I don't think they had a problem with signing a new sponsor I think they had a problem with what they new sponsor wanted enforce.... ie an internal drug testing policy.... there is no way Bruyneel could have worked under those conditions ! I mean fancy having to be honest....... USPS/Disco put the sport back 10 years......

Even you can't possibly believe the drivel you are writing. T-Mobile, Rabo, and Belgian sponsors, etc., know exactly what's going on. Talk of "new cycling" and team specific "anti-doping" measures are merely PR babble meant to assuage the gullible.

At least Rabo had the balls to fire a couple OG's. And Caisse didn't have the guts to load Valverde up for the Tour.

This is such old news. I knew about this a year ago.
