Being a little climatically delayed here, we finally had an evening warm enough to eat out on the patio last night. I hooked up the propane and scraped the grill and the old BBQ fired up first try.
I scrubbed a medium size Yukon Gold potato, sliced it into four, laid them out slightly overlapping and brushed them with oil and a sprinkle of salt and pepper, wrapped them in foil and tossed them on direct heat, turning every five minutes. I par boiled some carrots and prepared some fresh local asparagus and brushed them all with more olive oil. We had some lamb chops that had been rubbed with garlic and then mint sauce. The lamb chops and carrots went on together and then the asparagus. A bottle Shiraz, a baguette and the dinner was complete. This is officially BBQ season.

Sounds like you had a good meal. I'm south of you and have yet to have a dinner on the deck. One lunch so far but evenings still too cool. Of course, to a Canadian, I guess 40F is warm enough to eat out. I like at least 70.

We have to lower our standards when it comes to temperature :-) To ne honest, after 5 months of cold weather, 40 degrees is warm enough to be working in the yard in a T shirt and complaining about the heat, but you are off a little bit on the estimate. It would have to get up to the high 50s to be warm enough to eat outside. At 70 we will be complaining about the heat. By the end of August our blood will have thickened and we will be putting on sweaters at 70.
