Quoted message said:Was watching a Doctor show where it was recommended that a person take digestive enzymes to
breakdown complex sugars and that will reduce "gas". Some people experience a big time problem when
they go on insulin resistance drugs. Would this item help the people with the problems we see
reported? What effect would these items have on the timing of glucose rises after eating? Anyone
know the answers?
Only a guess. Seems like it would affect the timing of the carbs hitting the system. But for a good
portion of us, it would be within the parameters of expectations from frequent blood glucose
readings and adjustments.................
Here is an intersting thread from the ask Walt Stoll website (an interesting by the way)

It kind of makes sense, doesn't it, that someone with a problem with one part of the pancreas (islet
cells) might have a problem with the other (digestive enzymes).
While digestive enzymes are not directly affected by gastroperisis, rarely does anything happen in
isolation. And a slight deficiency in digestive enzymes *might* be big trouble if any other
digestive problems were present.
For sure digestive enzymes (Beano) help with gas from beans!! (whether with diabetes or not). I am
kind of surmising that digestive enzymes could be helpful in a lot of cases of diabetes..........
definitive data may be lacking.
