difference between italian and english bracket

They require different types of thread cut into the shell, and also a different shell width. The drive side thread of an English type is reverse (left hand), while Italian has normal threads both sides. The bottom brackets are not interchangeable; a frame is made for one or the other.

yep, so the long & the short of it is that you cant mix & match.... italian is italian & GB is GB

do a few searches on here & am sure you'll find the technical differences

italian has both right handed thread & british is a left & a R/H thread also the british shell width is 68mm and italian is 70mm

Huh nops not for any particular reason...i'm quite new to cycling and while surfing on an online bicycle store i fell on an ultegra group and there was option between an italian bracket and an english one...so just wanted to know more about the difference 😄...
