  1. I've had some good moments on the journey, but the best one came last week
when I finally scored one against my older brother Bill. He's one of those
guys who can eat anything he wants and stays trim. Needless to say, he is
universally envied by the others in my pudgy German family who are almost
    all struggling with their weight.

Bill has never been shy about coming up to me and grabbing a handful of
flab and saying "Gotta lose a few pounds" even as I've been losing weight.
(To be fair, he's also been very supportive of my efforts.) Anyway, he
comes up to me and grabs and all he gets is a handful of too-large shirt.
He feels around for a moment and then goes, "Dang..." We just about hurt
ourselves laughing. My wife was standing there with her hand on the
phone, "Do we need to call an ambulance for you guys or what?"

    Heh.

  2. LOL! Yeaaaa, Daniel!

Your post reminded me of a cereal commercial a looonng time ago. The
punchline was something like, "if you can pinch an inch of flesh at your
waistline, you could lose a few pounds." In my family (all of us are
overweight), we would joke that we could pinch a foot.

That's great for the ego, isn't it?

After losing 109 lbs, I'd probably laugh hysterically, too :-) AWESOME
    accomplishment, Dan!
