Three blokes in prison, two white, one Murri.
"How long are you in for?" the first white fella is asked.
"12 years for armed robbery" he says.
"That's pretty harsh."
"Oh, it coulda been worse, there was a fair bit of violence. I coulda
got the maximum of 15."
"How long are you in for?" the second white fella is asked.
"20 years for murder" he says.
"That's tough."
"Oh, it coulda been worse, I killed eight people. My lawyer reckoned I'd
be lucky if I didn't get double that."
"How long are you in for?" the Aboriginal bloke is asked.
"Life" he says.
"Life?!? What'dya do?"
"Oh, I rode a bike without a light" he says.
"Jesus, that's cruel!"
"Na, it coulda been worse" he says, "it coulda been at night".
