My brother in-law and my father in-law both suffer from Diabetes. Is
there anyone in this group who has experience of this condition and
can offer some sensible advise to them.
Many Thanks

I assume that you are referring to Type-2 diabetes. That is insulin
resistance rather than no insulin production.
Yeah, I know a bit, as I have (used to have symptoms) the disease and am
currently treating it with diet and exercise. I am one of the lucky and
willful ones. Sometimes it can be controlled with diet and exercise,
sometimes not.
My advice, learn everything you can (real science, not exclusively Usenet
advice).
Start by eat less (of you are overweight), eat mostly un-processed foods
(regardless of current or future weight), and make sure you get regular,
vigorous (with doctor approval, barring physical problems) exercise.
If you maintain your weight (actually your bodyfat percentage) and get
regular exercise, you may be able to stave off the symptoms for a long, long
time--like forever, maybe (it really all depends on what the gene gods gave
you to play with).
Good luck

A bit of nutritional yeast with each meal, and avoid anything that
produces oxidative stress, which means oxidized cholesterol (only boil
foods that contain cholesterol, and avoid baked goods with dairy or
eggs in them) and unsaturated fatty acids, especially polyunsaturated.
Eat berries and dark chocolate each day, drink white tea. Very simple
stuff.
