How would a small dent on the top tube of a frame affect the integrity or
performance of a bike? I am considering purchasing an older used aluminum
frame bike with a small dent as a backup ride but am a bit concerned about
how well it will hold up given the slight damage.

significantly diminish the strength of the tube.Sharp edged dents are generally regarded as suspect and not
recommended.
