If you drive a car and don't wish to go through the inconvenience and
possible expense of giving your details to a cyclist you have knocked
off their bike, have no fear!
Following an accident, there is no need to rush, as you've got at
least a couple of weeks before the police send a form to your address
requesting the details of who was driving at the time.. then following
that another month to reply.
Of course there is no need to reply to such correspondance ! - as its
going to be at least six weeks before the police turn up on your
doorstep to ask you personally.. at which point all you have to do is
get your girlfriend to appear the door and tell the plod that you've
split up and moved back to scotland.. at which point its classed as a
case of 'untraceable driver' and you are *off the hook*
Of course a watch has been put on the number plate of the car, so it
will be stopped if its seen on the road, however being a rusty L reg
Rover, with a spectacularly smashed windscreen, I wouldn't imagine it
was repaired.
