I've felt dehydrated all day, and have been drinking
lots of water,
which helps for a short period of time, but then I feel
thirsty again.
I feel slightly weak, and my stomach feels
uncomfortable. I have not
changed any medications recently. Any clues as to what
it might be?

Personally I don't tolerate plain water well.

function, etc.) I am NO expert, and do NOT know the exact
names of these.I assume your output == input?
Might have some stomach upset. Here's my wishes that it
should go away, whatever it is. -
When you finally feel thirsty, dehydration has been there
for a while.Gently pinch up the skin on the back of your hand and pull
the skin up; if it doesn't return to the "before" state
within 1 second and you have been drinking water all day,
you should call your doc.Problem with dehydration is that the brain is affected very
quickly and you may not feel as though there is anything
wrong until you pass out.Happened to me once when I gave blood, even though I drank
all kinds of juices and ate pretzels, etc. The morning after
I donated, I was so weak that I could barely get out of bed
for two days. My face looked 30 years older, too. I thought
I was just tired and getting old very, very, very quickly
because dehydration gets to your brain so quickly. We were expected to go to a fundraiser.....beef and beer.
I was too weak to get dressed so my husband dressed me
and brought me to the event (I figured if I were going to
die, at least I'd go with my favorite, provolone sandwich
and beer.)My hub gave me a beer to drink and then another. Believe it
or not, after the second beer I my head began to clear and
my energy began to come back. So, I drank a few more glasses
of WATER and was shooting pool in an hour...no recurrence. Can't find explanation from anyone, even the blood bank,
hematologists, internists, etc. Only thing I can think of is
that the alcohol in the beer accelerated absorption of the
fluids I already drank that day...even though alcohol also
dehydrates through depressing ADH.This story wasn't to tell you to drink beer but to say that
you can be dehydrated and not realize it and to test
yourself by pinching your skin up. LK -

(linear?) system, something else is going one (the
adrenals?) I have had similar experiences but nothing
so drastic.
