  1. I am working on a recipe for this.

Goal = Get good bulk food while low carb backpacking or camping.

Nuke it without any added fat, just salt. Mash it well and use a
dehydrator with a fruit leather tray. Dry it to brittleness and chop
finely in a food processor. Vacuum seal.

    Pastorio

    Thanks for the input.

I'm trying both that recipe and one using added cheddar cheese.

The cheddar cheese one is from a recipe for dehydrated mashed potatoes
au gratin from the NESCO/American Harvester web site.

I'll be carrying both on a bicycle/camping trip starting either late
today or early tomorrow.... depending on how fast I get organized.

    I'll post the findings....

So nice to have fast Low Carb "Mashed Potatoes" on a bicycle/camping trip.

I'll be carrying Ranch Dressing powder and cheddar cheese powder in case
the flavor needs to be kicked up. Onion soup powders are also an option
for more flavor or different flavors to keep from getting bored.
