Dave's One-Pot Cooking
Deborah Flowers
A friend of mine who is single was telling me about his
favorite cooking method. He calls it one-pot cooking.
okra
olive oil
green beans
potatoes
First he puts some potatoes that he has peeled and quartered in the bottom
of a pot and covers them with water. Next he puts in green beans and tops
it off with whole okra. (Leave the tops on the okra and they won't get
slimy.) He puts this covered on the stove to cook. When the okra is
tender, which takes about three minutes, he takes it out and leaves the
rest cooking. He dribbles olive oil over the okra and eats it. When he is
finished eating the okra the green beans are done so he removes them and
eats them. By that time the potatoes are cooked and he has his last
course. Clean up is fast and simple with just one pot to clean!
