  1. Date Nut Bread

    Preheat Oven to 300 Degrees F.

    4 eggs, beaten 1 cup granulated sugar
    1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon salt 2 Tablespoons baking powder [check date for freshness] 2 cups flour 1 pound
    chopped pecans 1 pound chopped dates 1 1/2 Tablespoon Pure Vanilla Extract

    Beat eggs, add sugar. Sift together salt, baking powder, 1 3/4 cups flour. Add to egg mixture. Add
    nuts and dates which have been dredged with remaining flour. Add vanilla. Bake in greased 9 X 5 inch
    loaf pan about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Serves 12.
