  1. After finishing ahead of Ullrich, but well behind the lead group, in the first two
stages, Tom Danielson finished in the lead group of 70 on stage 3 of
    Setmana-Catalana (UCI 2.1):

Tomorrow's stage 4 is where Danielson gets the first chance
    to really show his stuff:

P.S. Zabel has 4 second places in his last 5 races. Does
anyone keep records on this stuff? It's gotta be a
record. The race before this string he finished 3rd.

I doubt whether he will have any "stuff" with so little
racing behind him, but if he does, it will consist of
    piloting VDB's winning attempt.

His lack of racing miles is unfortunate, but if he does a
good job of dragging VDB around, then that's good, too -
    at least for now.

Q: Why did the metalhead cross the road?
    R: Because he's a gullible moron who'll buy
anything with a skull on it.

I'll pick Danielson for 9th, under the assumption he isn't
forced to play waterboy. 9th is pretty good. I never
    anticipated he's win.

I'd have been happy about it if he ended up in the top
15, but that didn't quite happen. Still, 18th at 1:19
is ok. That was a big bunch in at four seconds,
    including VDB.
