Sure am, i did manage to get one from ebay but it showed up with slightly
bent forks and a head tube thats more oval than round:/

Are legs meant to be the limiting factor, rather than the aerobic
system? I always run out of legs (particularly with exhaustion the
last couple of weeks -- it's like I'm bonked before I get on the
saddle), far before I run out of puff -- as I said before, I couldn't
get over 180 for all my trying[1] (but, commuting ain't ideal
circumstances, even with sprinting). Compare that to the guy
attempting to come up on my outside a few laps from the end last time
I raced, who sounded like a steam-train.

Commuting is not completely useless as training -- Spent lots of time

It was funny after I took that pic she 'lubed' up the prize and chased Geoff off into the nearby bushes with it. BTW with the 'prizes', Vinca won the batteries & Geoff the 'martial aid'. Tasteful event the SS Nats .... :eek:

'Bent Man:- Old dude, default beard, no flag, screams around corners like a
greyhound. He rides a bent, so it took me a while to work up to nodding...
he never nods back (maybe hard while riding in that position?), I'll never
nod him again! Seen him a few times on the return trip.

Big Boi:- Short solid dude rides a MTB all kitted up and a camel back.
Gave him a few nods, nothing in return.

Panniers Woman:- <male> not bad </male> going in the same direction,
see/pass her a few times a week.

The Gunning Vet:- Older dude on a roadie. I know where he LIVES (seen him
come out the driveway).. turns off at Box Hill north.. Likes to race. Wheel
sucker from hell, never works. Always make the effort to drop him, even on
a recovery day.

Sleeper MTBer:- Riding home, see this guy once every few weeks. Big tall
guy. Always rolling slowly until I pass him.. He'll jump on my wheel, but
he'll also do some work on the front! The first few months I just managed
to hang on to him... Now I make sure he cant hang onto me. Great training!
He turns off over the freeway around Mt Albert North(?)

FlyingDutch: Only when I take the main roads and am running late, sometimes
on the way home, again, when I take the shortest way home.

I'm sure there are a few more that I cant think of atm...

This thread is reminding me that we really should get our collective fingers out and get some a.b. spoke cards produced at least so that those of us who want to be identified can be... I'm sure that's an easy job - a basic a.b. logo and some space for our names/handles...

Absolutely.

Well tonight.. at the Melbourne cup on wheels Kath and I will be on
stealth Kat. Orange GSX 750 ES Katana. Its the hardest bike we have
to steal.. weighing in at a slim 210 kg dry. Its also the only tandem.

I catch a few people going along scothmans creek every day between
Laurance road burwood and Oakleigh pool between 7.15 and 8.00 depending
on the day, some nod others just ignore but that fine.

Went past this wiry/skinny bloke with ABOC jersey and nicks yesterday
morning on Lawerence road, I see him at Blackburns Veldrome on some
thursday nights.

On thursday nights? That's intro track training ... wiry? heh, I
wonder who it is ....)

Ahha, that'll be Wayne Evans. Now riding A grade (started in D 18
months ago) and learning track.

I know a few people that could pass him on a hill, of course it would be

You can go for a straight 52 cards on first-come first-served basis or
52 cards per state 'chapter'. Bags that I get the Jack for WA, Jack is
appropriate as I ride half a dozen bikes plus a few recumbents, never
one solely. Who would recognise me although I commute daily, without an
a.b card? Make me the WA poster child for a.b if you like. I'll leave
Marty, Byron, David M and the rest to fight over the other denominations
and titles. 🙂
