Well the KMX fund has paid out (two birthdays close together, large
family), we now are in possession of a stealth black recumbent
trike....(and I mean BLACK).
Of course it would be nice if I was able to ride it, but alas it is
"for the kids". Since I am only 5 kilos over the weight limit, I have
of course tried it out - Strictly to balance the brake steer of course
(ahem).
I was rather delighted to see Alex (five next week) ride it round the
block with the assistance of a booster seat back. That should justify
the purchase still further to the accounts manager (105 on my new bike
to help offset cost may help too).
Comments: Nice design, fantastic looker, very robust, comfy seat for
short distances. Expect to make kids queue like a funeral procession.
The MAG wheels are heavy but really help the looks. I had to resort to
a very old pump to inflate the front ones as the plastic spokes and hub
are too big. One of the band brakes was trashed on mine due to delivery
failure (dropped at some point). Handing was better than I expected
from a2b reviews. Alex can endo already (although that isn't a trick
just not much weight, all over the front axle).
Stripped of a few kilos, lighter wheels, a better seat, 7 speed and a
second chainring, the bike could become the real thing for someone of
limited stature. They are now manufactured in Taiwan, I can't comment
on quality differences, but the frames are painted not chromed.
Trials available in OXON (Guy)...but form a queue or no ride :-)
regards

PS Sell the stinger, be a hero (it's for the kids).
