DA-7800 vs Record pricing

Richard-<< Greetings! Looking through catalogs, I see that,
except for derailleurs and _carbon_ cranks, the price of
DA7800 is much higher than for Record. Examples include
crank/bb's - $450 for DA, $340 for Record; control levers
- $450 for DA, $300 for Record; hub pairs - $300+ for DA,
about $220 for Record, >><BR><BR>

But once you add the more expensive things of Record, like
a $125 front der and an almost $250 rear der...they get
more even.

BUT when looking at the materials of DA..I don't see why a
set of 7800 levers are $450 or the crank is $400+...for
plastic and aluminum...

I bet that some bike manufacturers are still reselling 7800
stuff. We jiust got a bunch of stuff from Security in
plastic bags, somethig that I though was a no-no...

PLUS 6500 stuff is almost non-existent right now..I wonder
if shimano has already abandoned 6500 for the 10s
stuff...due out September?? can't wait to see the price of
that. I'm guessing about $1200 for a 6600 group-or whatever
they are gonna label it.
