I bought a 14.8v li-ion battery from batteryspace.com, 12V 20W bulbs from my local electronics store, and used a marwi nitepro elite housing. Using a premaid housing and switch just made my life a bit easier. Because I'm overvolting the bulb so much I get a very nice bright night.

The brighter the better, the marwi nitepro elite costs an arm and a leg here that’s the reason I’m building one, but I bet it looks cool. I saw this cunning idea somewhere, where you build the battery into a water bottle and just clip it into the cage.
