Lyne Bessette, one of Canada's top cyclists, announced her retirement from competitive racing on Wednesday. The native of Knowlton, Que., captured a gold medal in the women's road race at the 1998 Commonwealth Games and competed in two Olympic Games in 2000 and 2004.
