  1. In their book, Chris Carmichael’s Food for Fitness: Eat Right to Train Right, Chris Carmichael, Jim Rutberg, and Kathy Zawadzki (2004, p. 27) state:

"I have also found that cycling is more effective than running for improving the aerobic conditioning of hockey and basketball players. These sports are more sprint- and power-oriented, and endurance running hinders players’ performances in sport-specific practices. These athletes should utilize the cycling field test and integrate cycling training into their programs."

I started cycling 5 months ago, one of the best decisions of my life by the way, but I occasionally participate in basketball games and/or tournaments. My aerobic training, however, is solely based on the CTS Workouts published in book entitled The Ultimate Ride: Get Fit, Get Fast, and Start Winning with the World’s Top Cycling Coach by Carmichael and Rutberg. Does anyone know which CTS workout resembles basketball? Or which cycling-based training is appropriate for basketball?

Thanks for your time, I hope to hear soon from you guys.
