Cycling Switzerland

I live in Switzerland and highly recommend it as a place to tour. The country has nine national routes, which you can read about at http://www.veloland.ch/en/welcome.cfm . There's also an interactive online map at http://map.veloland.ch/ (be sure to select "National" in the left column. Each route has its own guidebook, and you should have no problem finding those at a bookstore once you arrive in Geneva.

You can't go wrong with any of the routes, but some require a lot more effort with the mountains. Fortunately, many of those intense climbs can be skipped by a jump on the train (train details are also in the guidebooks mentioned above).

In Geneva is a tour company called Bike Switzerland. They'd be able to set you up with a rental if you don't want to bring your own bike.

West Switzerland is interesting.

Based near Basel you can take in Germany (Freiburg) and France (Mulhouse).
It is hilly terrain mind!
