I am new to the whole serious cycling with all the nutritional stuff and what not. does anyone have a provisional diet plan that has worked well? Preferably a long term(it doesn't even have to be cycling specific) plan.

There are a small number(perhaps only 3) books on this very subject - that's where I would start. Also cycling magazines often cover this subject well🙂 -
