What a wonderful collection of photos.
As we are on the subject of nostalgia - I happened to spend a few days in East Grinstead (Surrey)
last month. In the High Street was a shop called Pearsons Cycle Engineers - the window was full of
vintage machines and walking through the door was like stepping back in time. It was more workshop
than shop. The owner told me the shop had been open on that site for 110 years. He quickly said that
he hadn't been there all that time but I suspect he had been there a large percentage of those
years. The look and feel of the place was of another world. If any of you are passing that way have
a look because places like that ought to be preserved.regards Malcolm
