hey, i'm touring around oz and have had enouth of the coastal truck wobble and depressing flatness. i'm planning to turn inland as soon as i get around bundaberg. has anyone got some ideas/advice on :
which route is better? thru rockhampton or longreach?
are there any better options on side/minor roads?
and anything that you find important/interesting

Long time since I've been up that way, but Carnarvon Gorge was a highlight of that part for me. It's a long detour away from the coast, but I was able to visit relatives in a coupld of the mining towns there and back.
