Hello,
I would like to get a general opinion about cycling across Poland alone. I would want to go from Krakow to Slupsk in Northwest Poland (about 625km in shortest). Main concerns are:
1) My safety from mugging or theft
2) Road conditions (specifically in rural areas with narrower roads)
3) Rules and regulations on camping, do not want to spend big money on hotels, but of course that means a heavier load to carry.
4) I would like to bring my own bicycle or is it better to buy/rent one there?
I would like to use my Fuji cyclocross 3.0 bicycle which would benefit some of the rougher rural roads. I am wanting to get 7-14 days out of the trip.
I am from the USA, late 20's, no health issues/concerns or major injuries, speak some Polish yet understands much more in terms of Polish vocabulary.
Any tips on this or prepping to cycle overseas in general would be much helpful. Please do not suggest other cycling routes for now.
dziękuję,
Philip
