  1. I'll be on business in Nottingham in a few weeks time for a few days and
rather than just book the usual Travel Inn type hotel and sit in a Brewers
Fayre or sit in the room watching terrestrial TV I thought I might stick the
bike in the back of the car and try and find somewhere decent that is near a
    cycle route or two.

Any ideas? I'll be working near the centre of Nottingham (close to where
Sherwood Rise meets Gregory Boulevard apparently) so don't want to be
staying anywhere too far away but I don't mind a bit of a drive to and from
before and after work if it means a better evening.

Any ideas on where to stay that's reasonably priced and will let me take a
bike indoors and lock it up at night?

Also, the main thing is where to ride once I get there - Taking a look at
the map the most obvious thing is the river - Is there a cycle route along
    it?

    Any advice would be appreciated

    Regards

    R

    Don't get shot!

Does anyone else think it's ironic that a city which milks its
connection with a sharp-shooting fictional outlaw has uncontrollable
    levels of gun crime? ;-)

  3. Any ideas of a decent B&B/hotel?

    No, but,

Avoid the Meadows - but I'd doubt you'll find a hotel there anyway. It's
    bandit country, even for Nottingham!

I don't know anything about Wilford Village, but West Bridgford is OK.
Gamston is nice, and near some nice countryside to the south of Nottingham.

    Seconded comments on The Meadows.

Wilford Village, Ruddington & around that area fine - there's a nice
little place in Ruddington village near the main street - I think it's
in the good food guide. Sorry - can't remember the name.

Thanks to all that replied - I've found a b&b type hotel in West Bridgford
that looks reasonable. I'm just going to send them an email to make sure
that they have somewhere I can lock the bike up.

    Cheers
