i used to have a CatEye Enduro but the bike got stolen. i was going to get
a CatEye Mity 8 (functionality at http://www.cateye.com) for the new bike
because i like have 2 trip odometers, but then i stumbled across the HRM
2000 at Supergo
(http://www.supergo.com/profile.cfm?lProd_id=22854&lmfg_id=&searchtext=quest&referpage=).
it's a basic computer plus a heart rate monitor. i'm just learning about
HRMs so i thought i'd try this model because it's on sale now for $25 which
is practically throwaway. i haven't actually hooked it up yet, so maybe it
really is throwaway quality, but reviews i read were generally okay. it's
all wireless, both HRM transmitter and wheel transmitter.

Do a google groups search on "wireless computer" on this
newsgroup and you will get a variety of opinions and
recommendations.

Personally, reading some of those threads has kept me away
from wireless; there seem to be reliability complaints.
However, I've not read the threads carefully and claim no
expertise with wireless bike computers.

I've had good luck with Cateye Enduro, and have a Cateye
Astrale with cadence now. These have wires.
