I have recently been diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. This is a fancy way of saying a scarring of the lungs whose cause is unknown.
The treatment of choice would be high doses of steroids for a long time. However, this has side effects, not least considerable weight gain. Fortunately the specialist does not feel that it is necessary at the moment because my lung functioning is quite effective. This may well be because of my reasonably regular moderate cycling. I've been recommended to keep it up.
It would be very encouraging if there is anyone out there in the newsgroup who has a similar condition and could offer any hints and tips/inspiration.
