  1. My local bike store is having a sale on these trainers. Does anyone used them and have a good or bad opinion?

    Thanks!

I suggest trying it out. I have one for year now. I find it really useful, but I wished it had one more feature. In Ergo mode it keeps you at a power level you input no matter what cadence you spin. It is great for interval training. The bad thing is that you cannot adjust the power level once you start the exercise...if you are dying and need to reduce your output you cannot lower it like a computrainer just by hitting the arrow buttons. Instead you need to quit re-enter the amount and start again...about 25second down time. Just plain dumb in my opinion.

On this point alone, I would not buy another one.

That does sound dumb. Even during intervals, you'd want to reduce power for your rest periods. Is there maybe another mode (besides Ergo) that would do what you're describing?

There is a quick ride mode that you can change resistance levels that you can do intervals on, but is does not have the ergo feature.

There are some programable interval modes that have ergo, but they are not super flexible.
