I just got back from the Cycle Vision 2004 in Lelystad Holland and saw some great recumbant bikes! This event took place at the RDW test track. It is a 2.8 kilometer track which was used for a 200 kilometer race. Average speed was 63 kPH.
I am not a recumbant rider but I surely was impressed with those that rode there. I am trying to learn to ride and hope to attend next year's event on my own recumbant. I really like the Challenger Hurricane. It is fast, light and small.
How is the recumbant movement in the USA doing? It seems to be alive and well here in Europe. I met Kelsey Bower from Ashland Oregon who seems to be a sort of recumbant guru, having been involved with building and designing recumbants for 10 years.
Does the USA have any events like Cycle Vision?

I know) as big as Cycle Vision. I helped put on an event in
Portland, Oregon, just a week before Cycle Vision:

recumbents for 25 years- I attended some of the first Human
Powered Speed Championships in California 'way back when. If
that makes me a guru, well...Jeff Wills
