  1. It's been a while but I finally updated my website that
covers not only my cross country tour but also a trip down
the pacific coast. Plus it has lots of info about gear,
tips, expenses, planning and a full day by day diary.

    Check it out at: www.atlantic.net/~tavaresv

    Thanks!

Thanks for posting your journals. We must have almost
    crossed paths...

I did my own Pacific Coast Ride in 1998. However, I did
this in three separate weeks: Memorial Day week (Vancouver
to Eugene); 4th of July week (Eugene to San Jose) and Labor
Day week (San Jose to Tijuana). That places me passing
through San Diego on Friday, September 11th the same day
    you rode through.

The couple from Virgin Islands (Ed and Kathy) on the
tandem with pretzel wheel, I met Sunday night September
6th at hiker/biker campsite south of Big Sur. They had
adventure tales to tell about hiding out in Memorial Park
while they waited several days for the wheel to get fixed.
We both camped in same hiker/biker campsite and shared
    wonderful sunset.

p.s. I wrote my own journal about this trip, but
unfortunately never wrote out the text for the San Jose
    to San Diego week:
