  1. Cycle For Sustainability 2005 (Australia) - Sustainia, Queensland, on
    Friday 15th July 2005.

Cycle for Sustainability will be a cycling road-show, motivating and
empowering individuals and communities to take action toward
sustainability. The campaign is inspired by Ghandi`s philosophy of `be
the change you wish to see`. The ride will coincide with the first year
of the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.

C4S 2005 will bring together a healthy, mobile community of individuals
with the energy to ride and enthusiasm to engage and educate the broader
community in sustainability issues. Sustainability encompasses a broad
range of environmental and social justice issues and our focus will
include water and land use, energy production, sustainable transport and
    fair trade.

The project has been created using three broad themes; Ride, Celebrate
    and Educate.
Ride - an epic journey of 3,500 kms on bicycles
Celebrate - living in community, honouring diverse and sustainable ways
of living and celebrating those who are taking small, meaningful actions
    toward living sustainably.
Educate - drawing upon established educational resources to engage and
educate children and young adults, via school visits: and the broader
community through public forums and information stalls.

The ride will begin in Brisbane in late July 2005, and visit communities
along the east coast of Australia, via Canberra, finishing in Hobart mid
December. A promotional launch of C4S will be held at the 2005 Students
Of Sustainability conference (9th-15th July) in Wollongong.

Following Students Of Sustainability, riders will gather in Brisbane for
a 1-2 week preparation camp. Shorter riding stages will be available for
those who are unable to undertake the whole ride.

There are many ways for you to get involved with Cycle for
    Sustainability 2005:

Riding the whole distance as Core Rider
    Riding a stage
Helping with accommodation, food or activities in your local area
    Promotion and Fundraising
    Sponsorship
