Our lovely 55yo receptionist was walking along the footpath underneath the Gherkin building in SMA just now when a guy on a bike weaving in and out of the peds collected her and another guy. She was knocked to ground, ripped her outfit, bloodied her knee.
Someone tried to chase him, at least to see which company he worked for, but the cyclist just yelled abuse and raced off.
Three years ago just around the corner in Camomile St she was crossing at the lights, with the green man, when a courier zipped through, his pedal removing a chunk of her calf and hospitalising her. He didn't stop either.
This is the same lady that lets me bring my bike upstairs and park it behind the conference room. We all love her and I am so gooddam furious. And so frustrated that I wasn't there. Hence the rant here.

Not so easy nowdays since they no longer use big old-style courier bags with big advertising all over them.

I believe the City Police have a camera watch scheme which a large number of City Firms support. The scheme uses security camera footage and traffic cameras to provide evidence at court. If the lady in question phones their control (0207 601 2222) room or Bishopsgate Police Station (0207 601 2607) to report the incident as a crime - criminal damage and reckless cycling they may be able to locate the culprit through that scheme.

Thanx for that. Our receptionist called that number and was informed that the other chap hit by the courier had already reported the matter. Apparently the cops were in the process of looking at CCTV footage from the area.
